Judgment

Judge not lest ye be judged! How many times have we heard this phrase? Do you know its context? It's meaning?
Judgment - A Biblical, Metaphysical Perspective

You can find these words in the Bible in the new testament of Matthew 7:1. To have a true understanding of the meaning you need to read the entire surrounding passage as with ANY quote, especially from the Bible.

First, what judgment are they referring to? The type of judgment that is formed with rash, uneducated or uninformed decisions that do not consider circumstance. For instance, a woman who shuns another as 'living in sin' when the 'sinner' is involved in a long-term monogamous relationship, while the accuser has multiple marriages and finds her next husband while still with the last. This is an extreme case to be sure, but you get my point.

This is illustrated even more drastically by Jesus in Matthew 7:3-5 3Why do you stare from without at the very small particle that is in your brother's eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam of timber that is in your own eye?

The Bible asks us repeatedly to put ourselves in others' shoes before forming an opinion or making any kind of judgement.

Isn't allowing something to happen that you know is wrong as bad as committing that wrong yourself? Given that you have the power to protest at the very least. More to come...
